Institutional Terms of Enrollment, Student Privacy, and Tuition Liability Policy

This page outlines the University of Brookstone’s institutional terms related to enrollment, student data privacy, academic delivery, tuition liability, refund assessment, intellectual property, and policy amendments.

1. Statement of Student Privacy and Data Confidentiality

The University of Brookstone (UOB) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of privacy and data security for its student body. All student records, personal identifiers, and academic progress data are managed in strict accordance with institutional confidentiality standards and applicable educational privacy laws.

  • Non-Disclosure Guarantee: Personal, financial, and academic data collected during application, enrollment, or matriculation is strictly proprietary. The University does not sell, rent, lease, or distribute student information to third-party marketing firms, commercial advertisers, or outside affiliates.
  • Authorized Access: Information sharing is restricted exclusively to authorized university officials, academic counselors, financial administrators, and designated institutional technology partners who require access to facilitate necessary educational and administrative services.
  • Data Security Protocol: UOB employs enterprise-grade cryptographic standards and secure server architectures to protect student credentials, financial transactions, and internal communications from unauthorized access or disclosure.

2. Academic Model and Independent Study Framework

The University of Brookstone delivers its curricula through an asynchronous, flexible educational framework designed to accommodate diverse professional and personal schedules.

  • Self-Paced Matriculation: Students are granted the autonomy to progress through lectures, research modules, and assignments independently, subject to the maximum timeframes allowed for degree completion.
  • Continuous Portal Availability: The UOB digital learning environment, library repositories, and course syllabi are accessible on a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week basis to support continuous independent study.

3. Institutional Tuition Liability and Refund Policy

Tuition liability at the University of Brookstone is dynamic and pro-rated based on institutional resource consumption, infrastructure allocation, and enrollment designation. Upon enrollment, a student’s refund eligibility is calculated on a case-by-case basis based on the following three criteria:

  • Enrollment and Funding Designation: Refund structures vary significantly depending on whether a student is classified as a Regular Student (self-funded/direct-bill) or is a recipient of Financial Aid. Students utilizing institutional or external financial assistance are subject to specific statutory return-of-funds regulations, which may alter the final refundable balance.
  • Digital Environment Activation: Administrative and technical infrastructure costs are officially incurred upon the digital activation of a student's secure portal area.
  • Academic Resource Utilization: The percentage of tuition refunded decreases proportionately based on the volume of academic materials, core lectures, institutional library databases, and initial course modules accessed or downloaded by the student.

Mandatory Administrative Consultation

Due to the precise mathematical variables involved in assessing digital footprint data and funding regulations, tuition adjustments and refunds cannot be processed automatically or via a fixed schedule.

To initiate a formal withdrawal and receive a calculated assessment of tuition liability, students must be guided through the official process by their assigned Academic Counselor. The counselor will conduct an institutional audit of the student's resource ledger and account status to determine the final eligible refund percentage.

4. Intellectual Property and Terms of Use

All educational materials, video lectures, examinations, and digital assets housed within the UOB student area are the exclusive intellectual property of the University of Brookstone. Unauthorized redistribution, sharing of institutional portal credentials, or external publishing of university materials constitutes a violation of academic integrity and may result in immediate disciplinary or legal action.

5. Amendments

The University reserves the right to amend these terms, privacy provisions, or tuition liability tables at its discretion to ensure compliance with changing educational regulations or institutional demands.
